Promises, Love & Baby Teaser #2

If you’ve been following me on Facebook, you know that I just returned from a three-week working holiday in Europe to research for my upcoming book Untamed Desires. I had such an amazing time in London, Barcelona, Positano, Nice, and Paris, but oh boy, am I also so happy to be back home and in the comforts of my couch in front of the television. Haha. (I may or may not have ordered $50 worth of Chinese take-out yesterday all for myself because I’d been craving some good American comfort food the last week or so of the trip. Talk about going overboard! LOL!)

Shock ran through my body as I met the gaze of the one person I never thought I’d see again.

“I thought you were dead,” I managed to finally say in a gasp of breath.

To my horror, a smile spread slowly across his face as his eyes darken with a spark of amusement.

“I know you did.”

The blunt obviousness of his matter-of-fact words left me grasping for any hope that this was all in my head–that I was imaging things, that I was just having a nightmare, that John wasn’t standing right there in front of me.

But as his gaze moved down my body, causing me to feel sick to my stomach, I knew this wasn’t a nightmare. I knew this was real. I knew things would never be the same again.
