Hi Stefania – can you tell me where you are located? Damian has been free since 1/14 (and still is at the time of this comment). It is free on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, but not free in other countries, as Amazon wouldn’t allow me to change the price there. But it is also free on B&N, iBooks, Kobo, and Google Play.
This was a good read except for one major thing — it a CLIFFHANGER and that important detail isn’t clear at all of the sources (we readers need to know when a story has multiple parts). That’s an automatic deduction of two stars for me. *Especially* when it isn’t clear about the number of parts in the series. So now I’m here on the author’s site trying to figure that out and trying to figure out exactly how much the Damien/Alexis series is going to cost me.
Hi Elle – I am confused by your comment. I believe it’s made clear that this book is apart of a series, and a quick look at the reviews will reveal that about 1/3 of the reviews mention a book 2 or that there’s a cliffhanger. For example, on Amazon, it says “(The Heartbreaker, #1)” right after the title, Damian. There’s also a section under the title of the book that tells you whether it’s a series, including a link to the other books in the series. And on my website, I have made that clear as well (http://jessicawoodauthor.com/books/). There is a total of 3 books in The Heartbreaker series, 2 full length books and a prequel novella. BOTH book 1 (Damian) and the prequel novella (The Heartbreaker Prequel) is currently FREE. The prequel can be read before and after Damian. Taming Damian is the third and last book and is the only book in this series I’m charging money for. I believe that’s pretty fair for the amount of books you are receiving.
While some reader want to be warned of a cliffhanger, there are an equal amount of readers who don’t want to be warned at all and enjoy the element of surprise. That is the reason I do not opening inform readers there’s a cliffhangers, but I do indicate it’s apart of a series. I do, however, tell readers directly if there is a cliffhanger if they were to ask me. I am not trying to hide this fact. I am simply trying to not spoil it for those who dont want to know.
